HTC today officially announced their latest flagship smartphone. The HTC One (M8) features a refined design, larger display, and various internal and functional upgrades over last year’s HTC One (which was, for those keeping track, the M7).
In a nutshell, the device looks fantastic from a hardware perspective. The software has been Sense’d (6) over, which is a mixed bag according to reviews, and the battery life is great. However, the camera system appears to be the device’s Achille’s heel, with most reviewers citing it as a major step down from the iPhone 5s and other comparable devices, and even the Nexus 5.
I’ve personally found the recent crop of flagship devices to be boring, but it’s good to see that HTC is hanging in there. If Android is your cup of tea, it’s probably worth taking a look at this device: it looks like a solid update to a fantastic device.
