V-MODA has made large strides into the audio world. With the Crossfade Wireless, as the name would suggest, they lunge into the wireless world with their first Bluetooth headphones. They take the classic V-MODA design and infuse a wireless sound that is akin to the M-100 (though with a few tweaks).
By now, the V-MODA design has really become a classic in my mind. The familiar hexagonal shape that they use on nearly every one of their headphones (on, over, and in ear) gives the headphone a modern, rugged feel overall. Color options are nearly limitless, they come in four base colors: gunmetal (black and slate, pictured), rogue (black and red), phantom chrome (black and silver), white silver (white and silver). Additionally, you have options of face plates to make it truly yours. Materials go from smooth, glossy or metallic, metal plates to 3D printed (fiber, steel, or a selection of precious...
V-MODA has really made quite a large name for itself in the headphone business. Starting out with something more akin to what would seem like a fashion statement, V-MODA has really proved itself to be quality. Though I’ve enjoyed the majority of their on and over-ear headphones, I’ve only enjoyed their flagship buds. More specifically, the V-MODA Vibrato that was reviewed 3 years ago. The V-MODA Zn is designed as a successor to that throne and improves upon the Vibrato in various ways.
Matted versus glossy is really what it comes down to when it comes to the Zn. Following suit with the rest of the lineup, V-MODA decided to give the Zn a matted finish over the glossy one of the Vibrato. The silver accents still give it a nice contrast to the stealthy black finish that really fade into the background. The crisscrossing wire design gives it a unique look all around. They definitely are a good-looking...
So, our spur of giveaways continues with an interesting device, conceptually. The Witti Dotti is an "8-bit" design to it. It's used as a notification system that hooks to your device via Bluetooth. When you receive a notification, it'll tell you where the notification is coming from. If you're playing music, it'll show you the beat. It has many customizations as well as a clock. It retails for 70 dollars, so comment below for your chance to win on now!
I’m the kind of guy that everybody hates: I own a Mac and use Android for my phone and tablet uses. I’m on ends of a fanboy flame war spectrum between PC users and iPhone users who often criticize or comment on my strange choice to intertwine software and hardware experiences. Most people on the forum would call me an Android fanboy. I’ve dabbled in using iOS devices, but have never held onto the devices for very long. To be quite honest, the software experience of iOS never really impressed me. That’s changed.
So Why on Earth Did I "Switch"?
There are three reasons I got a new phone, but they factored into getting the iPhone: 1) battery life, 2) music, and 3) the camera.
First, battery life. I’m lucky at this point to get 2 hours of screen-on time. With daily classes, my work schedule, conference calls, long meetings, commuting, and even an external charging pack, the battery life on my Nexus 4 just doesn’t hold up...
The original Aralon: Sword and Shadow was released 5 years ago and at the time, it was hailed as one of the most graphically impressive and immersive fantasy role-playing games for mobiles. Now in 2015, Crescent Moon Games has followed up with the sequel - Aralon: Forge and Flame.
Aralon: Forge and Flame is set in the same world as its previous title, but this time it's even bigger and prettier. You'll be visiting familiar locations as well as new ones, and each environment is crafted with meticulous detail. Back then, something I loved about Aralon was exploring the expansive world, from the quiet woods of Taryn Ridge to the bustling city of Callaheim. Revisiting the locations, it feels like entering a different world entirely - it's the small details like birds scattering away when you walk past and the grass gently swaying in the wind that make the world come alive....
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and if you don't celebrate, a great weekend! I think it's a good time to have another one of those giveaways right now, so next on the chopping block is the Braven LUX. It will be the last of the 3 speakers available for giveaway, so if you're fan of Braven, jump on in. Otherwise, we are also planning other giveaways through the holiday season.
Recently, I decided to try out a fancy stylus for my iPad Air 2, my research brought me to the unusually shaped 53 Pencil. Right off the bat, the shape of the pencil diverges from styluses the same way a carpenter’s pencil diverges from the standard pencil design. And that would only make sense knowing that is the design that was intended for the 53 Pencil. The wood finish gives a distinctive grain to the Pencil creating a look and feel that is natural to the touch and easy on the eyes. The stylus, in the wood finish, will also attach to the magnetic SmartCover of the iPad for easy storage and transportation.
Despite its shape, it is quite comfortable to hold in the hand and use. Each and every stroke remains precise and fluid. While sketching, it literally did feel like I was using a true-to-life pencil. It felt great to use and draw with. Mistakes can quickly be fixed with a...
After the previous giveaway, I thought we'd do another one. This giveaway is for the colorful Braven 705, it's a little newer than the previous BRV-1 and still build to be tough and portable. I haven't heard this one personally, so I can't comment on the sound, though most of Braven's stuff is pretty good (especially for their size), their build is also generally top notch as well. That said, enter to win a Braven 705 speaker.
For more information regarding this speaker, please see this link.
Same rules apply as last time:
To enter the giveaway, simply post into this thread.
One post per person, if you post more than once, only your first post will count.
Entries will close after 1 week (from this posting). More specifically, that is Tuesday, November 25, at10:10 PM (CTS).
The winning entry will be chosen at random using a perfectly random number generated seeded off of a...
So in the upcoming weeks, iFans will be working with Braven to do 3 separate giveaways of their bluetooth speakers: the Braven BRV-1, 705, and LUX. They also don't sound too bad either. The first speaker that will go up for giveaway is the Braven BRV-1. I reviewed this a little over 2 years ago and it's a nice little portable speaker. It has a waterproof and dustproof design that is perfect for being outdoors or use in the shower. Today, one of these bad boys would go for about 100 dollars direct from Braven.
Well, with the advancement of Apple Music to the Android OS, Apple seems to have everything it needs to cut Beats Music off entirely. I really can't say this is surprising really, Apple Music was supposed to essentially replace Beats Music. That said, if you are on a Beats subscription (and Apple should have emailed you already), you can easily transfer all of your playlists over. Just about everything is supported... Just about... *cough* Sonos *cough*. So, for those of you that need to switch over, you have until the 25th to do it.
